OpenStack gerrit 700177 0 None MERGED Provide option to set reserved_huge_pages 2021-01-28 22:31:26 UTC

Description David Juran 2019-08-05 07:01:05 UTC
Description of problem:
When reserving some HugePages e.g. for OvS, using OvsDpdkSocketMemory, Nova also need to be made aware of this. This is described in the following kbases:

https://access.redhat.com/solutions/3250441
https://access.redhat.com/solutions/3356561

It feel that forcing the user to specify the same value twice is a bit daft. If OvsDpdkSocketMemory requires the accompanying nova setting in order not to cause havoc further down the line, it should set nova::compute::reserved_huge_pages: itself
