Comment 8 Zdenek Dohnal 2019-08-07 06:01:47 UTC
Hi Robbie,

thank you for reporting the issue!

Are you able to reproduce it?

Would you mind describing situation which led to the error?

The exception can be caused by reaching limits of number of processes for user ID, or kernel system-wide limit of number of processes (number in /proc/sys/kernel/thread_max) or max PID number defined either by kernel, or cgroup... so it seems really odd to run into such exception.

I was using X2Go. Seems to happen every time. Here are some other crashes just before hplip-gui crashes:

It seems at least gnome-keyring-daemon failed with similar error... so there will be an other issue on the machine.

Though I can catch the exception and prevent traceback at least. But the reason why it is behaving in such way is somewhere else (you got EAGAIN errno from fork, so check possible reasons in 'man fork', 'ERRORS' section).
