After a recent upgrade (distro-sync), nextcloud-client (2.5.2-2.fc30) is not working anymore on Fedora 30. Trying to start it from the terminal gives this error: nextcloud: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libQt5WebEngineCore.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZN3re23RE23Arg9parse_intEPKciPv The appimage of the client (Nextcloud-2.5.2-x86_64) provided by Nextcloud.com does work though.
I see the same thing on my system. Do you have updates-testing repo enabled?
I am also currently using the appimage. :(
Yes, finally it turns out that updates-testing repo was enabled. I disabled it and did a distro-sync which downgraded some packages, and now nextcloud-client is working again. I'm not sure about that, but I would suspect that the qt5-qtwayland package (as available in the updates-testing repo) was causing the problem.
what version of qt5-qtwayland package does nextcloud-client work with? I am unable to get it to run.
Version of qt5-qtwayland I have installed from updates repo (with Nextcloud client working) is 5.12.4-4.fc30. Again, I'm not sure if the problem is realy related to this package.
Same problem here. I hadn't noticed for a few days as I hadn't being using nextcloud until I noticed earlier that a file I had copied hadn't synced to the nextcloud server. I realised the client was broken. I found this fault report and disabled the updates-testing repo followed by a distro-sync. That has fixed the problem. The distro-sync downgraded 93 packages on my machine so I can't be certain the two qt packages are the cause but it seems most likely: Downgrade qt-settings-30.2-1.fc30.noarch Downgraded qt-settings-30.3-1.fc30.noarch Downgrade qt5-qtwayland-5.12.4-4.fc30.x86_64 Downgraded qt5-qtwayland-5.12.4-7.fc30.x86_64
The interesting thing is that I just re-enable updates-testing and applied all the updates and the nextcloud client appears to be fine. Curious? nextcloud-client will be fixed if re2 is downgraded. The offending update has been withdrawn. The package you want for the client to work is re2-20160401-8.fc30.x86_64.
downgrading re2 should help, see bug 1672014
can you please test it against 2.6.3?
