Description oliver b. 2005-11-23 00:13:26 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.1)

Description of problem:
My system (IBM IntelliStation Pro M) is only working with one cpu. There are two HT enabled cpus inside (they're working correctly with other OS'). The system runs AS4 U1 with update to U2 (up2date -u).

/proc/cpuinfo shows only one cpu. top also do.

For booting up the system I need to use the acpi=off kernel option. If not the system can't recognize the scsi-drives and seems to hang.

The last trest with AS3 U5 (acpi worked fine!) top showed me all 4 cpus.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
kernel-2.6.9-22.0.1EL, kernel-utils-2.4-13.1.69, acpid-1.0.3-2

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install AS4 U1
2. Update to U2
3.

Actual Results: System works with only one cpu.

Expected Results: System should work with all four cpus and show them all.
