RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

The EPEL7 build of openblas-0.3.7-1 fails with an internal compiler error on the ppc64le architecture. I don't have access to a ppc64le machine, so I can't supply the preprocessed source. The error should be readily reproducible from the srpm.

koji build logs attached.

Preprocessed source from upstream, https://github.com/xianyi/OpenBLAS/issues/2254#issuecomment-530891558

While I don't have access to the hardware, upstream has produced a preprocessed source.

Comment 7 Jakub Jelinek 2019-09-24 18:51:11 UTC
Reduced testcase for -O2 -mvsx -mcpu=power8:
typedef __attribute__((altivec(vector__))) unsigned int V;
void foo (V *p)
{
  register V a = {4,4,4,4};
  register V b = a << 1;
  b = b << 1;
  *p = b;
}

I believe this has been fixed upstream with r198772 aka https://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2013-05/msg00378.html

Comment 8 IBM Bug Proxy 2019-09-24 19:30:24 UTC
------- Comment From edelsohn.com 2019-09-24 15:29 EDT-------
There appears to be one bug that already has been fixed, and the patch should be considered for GCC 4.8.5 RH.

The OpenBLAS community uncovered a separate bug that reproduces in GCC 8.3 and is resolved with the same work-around that the OpenBLAS community applied for the first bug. I have asked the OpenBLAS community to create a reduced testcase and open an issue in GCC Bugzilla for the second issue.

Comment 12 Marek Polacek 2020-03-24 17:50:56 UTC
Patch commmitted.
