I am easily able to run Blender 2.80 latest stable from the blender website all of the dependencies are satisfied. If someone can package it in EPEL it will be great.
Moving to blender maintainer(s) to comment.

No i think dependencies are bundled in the tar.gz that we download from the blender site, but i can confirm that dependencies should be satisfied as the rpm of fedora works in RHEL 8.
Blender EPEL8 is branched on pagure repository [1] but fails to build due to the missing python 3.7, https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=38203659 Feel free to provide a fix on the spec file. Reference --------- [1] https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/blender/tree/epel8
It has to be rebuild for python 3.6
(In reply to jatin from comment #5) > It has to be rebuild for python 3.6 Unfortunable, Blender 2.80 requires at least python 3.7 as highlighted on https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/3712/38203712/build.log
Then Blender 2.79b will probably be fine in EPEL repo as we can install later versions manually or from snap, 2.79b does support python 3.6 as build dependency as it was in fedora 28, 29
Debian 10 buster has blender 2.79b currently so no probs i guess.
Feel free to package blender 2.79b for EPEL8 as say blender279b until python 3.7 lands. https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/blender/tree/482d9198ae5b0c3d61037fc1f598a070afce1a2c
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
@jatin, still looking to package Blender for EPEL8?
Closing as EPEL8 reached EOL year ago.
