Description of problem: If the system is installed via Basic Video Driver boot option (which appends nomodeset to kernel parameters), it should be present also on installed system. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): anaconda-31.22.2-1.fc31.x86_64 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Boot Fedora Workstation Live/Basic Video Driver 2. Proceed with installation 3. Boot installed system Actual results: Installed system is ran without nomodeset kernel parameter. Expected results: When the installation is done from Basic Video Driver, installed system should contain nomodeset too. Additional info: Testing was done in UEFI mode. Proposed as a Blocker for 31-final by Fedora user frantisekz using the blocker tracking app because: QA:Testcase Anaconda User Interface Basic Video Driver: The installed system should contain nomodeset keyword specified in the kernel boot line.
Discussed during the 2019-09-03 blocker review meeting: [1] The decision to classify this bug as an "AcceptedFreezeException" and "AcceptedBlocker" was made as it violates the following criterion: "The generic video driver option ('basic graphics mode'...) on all release-blocking installer and live images must function as intended (launching the installer or desktop and attempting to use a generic driver)...", and as a Beta freeze exception as a significant installer issue worth fixing. I cannot reproduce the bug. Could you attach logs from the installation, please?
Hmm, weird, I cannot reproduce it either right now. I must've overlooked something, sorry for the noise.
