Description Dave 2019-09-15 12:40:48 UTC
Created attachment 1615295 [details]
Output from journalctl --no-hostname -k

1. Please describe the problem:
Kernel produces suspend warning every time computer is suspended.

2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel:
This has happened on every kernel since at least fedora 29

5.3.0-0.rc8.git0.1.fc32.x86_64

3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue
*first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at
   https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 :

I've reported this with previous versions of fedora and it has yet to be fixed. It previously would frequently crash the computer entirely. It would also frequently suspend then wake and require to be suspended again, and possibility again after that. It no longer appears to require that cycle now, though.

4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce
   the issue below:
1. Press power button to suspend desktop.

5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the
Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by
   ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``:
Yes

6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?:
No

7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log
   for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the
issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag.

Comment 1 Dave 2020-06-10 02:26:23 UTC
This is still occurring with fedora32 5.6.15-300.fc32.x86_64. It occurs every time the desktop goes into suspend.

This is still occurring with 5.7.9-200.fc32.x86_64.

Comment 3 steve.morgan 2021-04-22 17:54:04 UTC
Just had this happen in Fedora 34. 5.11.13-300.fc34.x86_64

Seems to happen when laptop is plugged into external monitor with lid closed. I disconnect power/video while lid is closed and computer is not sleeping. The laptop looks like it goes to sleep fine but when waking up I get a black screen. Most of the time it recovers and I'm able to resume fine. One time I had to force power off. This does not happen every time. Seems like it started in one of the latest kernel updates as this was not* happening prior. I'll try to use a older kernel to see if I have the same results.
