Hi,

I would like to ask a build of rabbitmq-server for EPEL 8.

Would you mind requesting the branches and build them?

I also filed elixir which is required to build rabbitmq-server [1].

Thank you very much.

any update on this?

Comment 2 Breno 2021-03-30 13:03:06 UTC
This package depends on elixir which depends on rebar2/3.

I unfortunately don't have the bandwidth to maintain rabbitmq-server in EPEL 8. However, I can grant access to an EPEL maintainer who's willing to step in. If you're interested, please let me know and I'll add you in Pagure.

RabbitMQ has a large dependency chain (Erlang/OTP, Elixir) that was never fully available in EPEL 8, and the effort to maintain it there is not justified at this point. There is no CentOS Messaging SIG coverage for EL8 either.

For EL9 and EL10, RabbitMQ is available via the CentOS Messaging SIG — install centos-release-messaging to enable the repository. Users on EL8 should consider upgrading to EL9.
