still buggy in 68.1.1 F29

Comment 2 Ben Cotton 2019-10-31 18:44:59 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 29 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 29 on 2019-11-26.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
Fedora 'version' of '29'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 29 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 3 Didier G 2019-11-04 01:07:52 UTC
This problem still exists in Fedora 31 with thunderbird-68.2.0-1.fc31.x86_64

Thunderbird and Lighting interfaces are in french but special folders are in english in left panel.

This problem should stay opened for Fedora 31 and thunderbird-68.2.0-1.fc31.x86_64

Comment 4 customercare 2019-11-04 07:51:58 UTC
As an addition to the translation bug itself, an unkown process has installed ALL available language packs to those thunderbirds.

There is no sense in doing so, because 99.9 % of them, just eat space. Besides multi-person desktop workplaces (schools, universities etc ) it does no make sense to install more than the default system languages.

Comment 5 Jan Horak 2019-11-14 15:16:32 UTC
Looks like this is the upstream bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1575512 and it should be fixed in 68.2.1. We currently have 68.2.2 in testing, so give it a try.

Comment 6 Didier G 2019-11-14 15:32:06 UTC
thunderbird-68.2.2-1.fc31.x86_64 fixes the problem for most special folders but problem still exists for Junk.

Junk folder was in the past and should be named "Indésirables"in french but it is still named "QUARANTAINE" in left pane.

Comment 7 customercare 2019-11-15 09:14:40 UTC
thunderbird-68.2.2-1.fc29.x86_64:

"german" is working as expected.

Comment 8 Ben Cotton 2020-02-11 17:46:14 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle.
Changing version to 32.

Fedora 32 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2021-05-25. Fedora 32 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
