Description Xavier Bachelot 2019-10-18 15:51:00 UTC
Hi,

Could you please also build the python3 version in epel7 ?

Regards,
Xavier

I can submit a PR to add py3 to the EL7 build.
However I can either do it against master or against epel7 branch, depending on whether you prefer to keep all branches sync'ed or you prefer branches to be dedicated to a distro/release.
Which solution would you prefer ?
For now, I've been working from the epel7 branch, but I can indeed rebase against master.

Currently I'm disabling py3 tests for EL7 because of missing py3 builds for testscenarios, lockfile and testtools, but that can be done later if you're willing to accept a PR.

I think seperate is fine.

Would you like to co-maintain?

Comment 3 Xavier Bachelot 2020-01-24 19:00:11 UTC
I can co-maintain, indeed.
I've just filed a PR against python-lockfile, which is needed for python-daemon.

Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.

I added you to python-daemon, you are already added on python-lockfile.

Let me know if you need anything from me now.

Comment 7 Kevin Fenzi 2021-12-20 19:56:58 UTC
This seems to have been dropped? I see python-lockfile is there with a 36 package in epel7, but not python-daemon?

Do you still want to do this? Or should we just close this bug?

Comment 8 Troy Dawson 2024-07-09 15:39:58 UTC
EPEL 7 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2024-06-30. EPEL 7 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.
