Description of problem:
nmbd generates meaningless messages via syslogd, such as:

> Dec 22 10:06:36 pcg nmbd[2660]:   *****

and

> Dec 22 10:06:36 pcg nmbd[2660]:

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. /etc/rc.d/init.d/smb start
2. cat /var/log/messages or wherever "notice" or worse warning messages go
3.
  

Actual Results:  Dec 22 10:06:36 pcg nmbd[2660]:   *****
Dec 22 10:06:36 pcg nmbd[2660]:


Expected Results:  Only meaningful messages should be written via syslogd.
Empty cosmetic messages should be written to /dev/null.

This report targets the FC3 or FC4 products, which have now been EOL'd.

Could you please check that it still applies to a current Fedora release, and
either update the target product or close it ?

Should be fixed in recent packages, if not reopen.
