Description Jim Cromie 2005-12-24 17:20:57 UTC
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.12) Gecko/20050922 Fedora/1.0.7-1.1.fc4 Firefox/1.0.7

Description of problem:
yum shell will fail to run transactions in certain cases, forex:

--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: Missing Dependency: koffice = 4:1.4.2-0.FC3.2 is needed by package koffice-i18n
Error: Missing Dependency: koffice = 4:1.4.2-0.FC3.2 is needed by package koffice-devel
> exclude koffice

Since theres no way to tweak the transaction to make it succeed,
I have to exit the shell and use --exclude from the cmdline.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
I dont know how to select a bogus transaction-set,
and I dont understand why yum didnt just get those missing dependencies,
but once youre in the situation, the benefit should be clear.

the command is 'config exclude'

and it's listed in the config command help in the shell.
