Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Avijit Roy 2019-10-31 18:04:48 UTC
Description of problem:

After upgrading to satellite 6.6 while enabling tools repository, getting below error:

------------------------
Error:
CDN loading error: access forbidden to https://cdn.redhat.com:443/content/dist/rhel/server/6/6Server/x86_64/sat-tools/6.6/os/repodata/repomd.xml
------------------------

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Red Hat Satellite 6.6

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade/Install Satellite 6.6
2. Enable tools repository.
3.

Actual results:

Throwing below error:

------------------------
Error:
CDN loading error: access forbidden to https://cdn.redhat.com:443/content/dist/rhel/server/6/6Server/x86_64/sat-tools/6.6/os/repodata/repomd.xml
------------------------

Expected results:

Tools repository should be getting enabled without any error.

Additional info:

We already tried below steps :

1. Removed one subscription that provides RHEL, added it back to manifest and refreshed the manifest.
2. Added a new subscription to the manifest and refreshed the manifest.
3. Removed all subscriptions from the manifest and added them back. Refreshed the manifest.

None of the above attempts were able to fix the problem. The issue only exists for satellite 6.6 tools specific repositories but nothing else.

Comment 5 Chris Snyder 2019-11-01 15:16:01 UTC
Without the entitlement granted via a manifest refresh, new content available on the CDN (even if included in the already in use subscriptions) can't be accessed. This is an artefact of the current design of our subscription experience.

Hello Chris,

Manifest refresh was the very first step all these customers tried, even after manifest refresh they were not able to enable the Sat tools 6.6 repo so they had to remove all the subscriptions from manifest and add them back.

The intent of this bugzilla is that the manifest refresh should provide access to tools repo, but for some customers its not working.

Hope that makes it clear.

Comment 7 Barnaby Court 2019-11-07 10:41:46 UTC
This has been fixed in the Customer Portal. A customer will need to export a new copy of their manifest and import it or refresh from within Satellite.
