Comment 2 Tomáš Král 2019-11-19 09:36:35 UTC
Would it be possible to keep mirror.openshift.com link for 4.3? We don't have enough time to do all the necessary changes.

We can add an additional description or some kind of warning for the odo link in the web console.

For 4.4 we will create an OLM operator to distribute odo and provide a proper link to web console.

Comment 4 Charlie Drage 2019-12-04 14:48:04 UTC
After discussions with Ben, Steve and Jessica Forrester, it was concluded that we still need mirror.openshift.com for 4.3 (not enough time to implement CLI operator).

4.4 we will be implementing the CLI operator / have a different location.

Comment 8 Ben Parees 2022-11-03 16:31:47 UTC
Did this link ever get moved?

Comment 9 Tomáš Král 2022-11-07 08:13:42 UTC
What are supportable locations for customers to get content?

Currently, odo is hosted on developers.redhat.com. Is that ok?

Odo is supported under Cooperative Community Support https://access.redhat.com/solutions/5893251 Not sure if this changes something about the text around the console link.

Comment 10 Ben Parees 2022-11-07 14:49:35 UTC
https://access.redhat.com/downloads/ is the supportable location.

If the content is not being published to there (sounds like it's not) then the link should make it clear it falls under a different level of support.

Note: the point isn't that the console link has to go to access.redhat.com it's that if odo isn't available as a product from access.redhat.com then the console text needs to make it clear we're pointing them to something that has a different level of support.

Comment 11 Ben Parees 2022-11-07 19:53:57 UTC
Suggestion from Jessica is to word the link description as "odo (Community Support)"

Comment 12 Jakub Hadvig 2022-11-08 12:36:44 UTC
Found that odo is available at access.redhat.com - https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/openshift_container_platform/4.11/html/cli_tools/developer-cli-odo#installing-odo
But thats under "documentation" section, which when downloading wlll redirect you to https://developers.redhat.com/content-gateway/rest/mirror/pub/openshift-v4/clients/odo/latest

I guess updating the wording should be sufficient ?

Currently its => "odo - Developer-focused CLI for OpenShift"
Should be => "odo - Developer-focused CLI for OpenShift (Community Suport)"

Comment 13 Ben Parees 2022-11-08 14:19:22 UTC
"odo - Developer-focused CLI for OpenShift (Community Support)"

but yes

Comment 16 Yadan Pei 2022-12-13 02:58:23 UTC
now we show odo - Developer-focused CLI for OpenShift (Community Support) for odo downloads

verified on 4.13.0-0.nightly-2022-12-12-210406
