Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Hey Chris,

The environment that Yuefen were using is no more available and we requested CNV QE team to share a stable environment where we can retest this issue. Hoping to get that environment by early next week. This issue is pretty new since we just started virt-who testing with kubevirt environment.

Comment 16 William Poteat 2019-12-17 15:51:12 UTC
Closing as not a bug. Determined to be configuration issues with the test systems.

Comment 18 Piotr Kliczewski 2020-02-21 14:27:43 UTC
Fabian, Is this correct that we return preferred version as v1 and we are unable to us it?

Comment 19 Fabian Deutsch 2020-02-21 14:31:39 UTC
This is actually a bug in 2.1 it should mostly be fixed in 2.2, and further more in 2.3, see also
https://jira.coreos.com/browse/CNV-3455

Do you have the ability to validate with CNV 2.2?

Comment 20 Piotr Kliczewski 2020-02-21 14:34:59 UTC
Can you check with CNV 2.2?

Comment 30 Fabian Deutsch 2020-03-02 09:16:55 UTC
Piotr, this probably needs an update in the py bindings

Comment 37 William Poteat 2020-03-05 14:11:25 UTC
Q: I though that we could provide a version which if configured would override what we get from cluster
a list maybe too much but single value should be enough
the question is what would be the most native way to do it in virt-who?

A: make it a part of the config values in the *.conf file for the kubevirt instance plus add it to the global in /etc/virt-who.conf
