RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Stephen Benjamin 2019-11-26 15:26:19 UTC
iPXE ships the ability to build an EFI image that uses the UEFI network stack instead of iPXE's own network drivers. This is more reliable as iPXE doesn't support many network cards. We see lock-ups when using OVMF EDK2 and the normal ipxe EFI, but it works with snponly.efi.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

ipxe-bootimgs-20181214-3.git133f4c47.el8.noarch

Please confirm the added snponly image in the above build works for you

Comment 3 Neil Horman 2019-12-11 12:55:52 UTC
you waited too long to grab the packages and so the system cleaned them.

heres a new build:
https://brewweb.engineering.redhat.com/brew/taskinfo?taskID=25302201

Please grab it asap

Comment 4 Stephen Benjamin 2019-12-12 20:30:43 UTC
Thank you, sorry I didn't grab it soon enough. The snponly.efi in that build works for me.

Changes available above when bz is approved (note that pr will need to be updated to point to RHEL8.3)

Comment 7 Neil Horman 2019-12-21 12:45:10 UTC
It will take exactly what the process calls for a PM and QE ack on this bug. Waiting on the QE owner to provide that ack, and for PM to approve it

Comment 8 Neil Horman 2019-12-21 12:49:07 UTC
Raviv, may I ask what the hold up is on approving this bz?

Comment 9 Neil Horman 2020-01-06 11:37:03 UTC
Aharon, could you please approve this, I'd like to get it moving asap.
