Note: This bug is displayed in read-only format because the product is no longer active in Red Hat Bugzilla.
RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Honza Horak 2019-12-05 12:07:18 UTC
Based on the content in https://src.osci.redhat.com/modules/mod_auth_openidc/raw/2.3-rhel-8.2.0/f/mod_auth_openidc.yaml, the module stream mod_auth_openidc:2.3 does not define 'name' and 'stream' properly in the module.md file. Reason for doing it was explained in
http://post-office.corp.redhat.com/archives/rhel-devel/2019-March/msg00612.html

Further documentation in RHEL-8 Developer Guide:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IFFvXKvNZpLWAMS9-870bahMMtsWru8QOCIREmkd_58/edit#heading=h.lln13r876joj

Building a module in MBS from production branches (those with rhel-x.y.q suffix) might result in a module mod_auth_openidc:2.3-rhel-x.y.q instead of mod_auth_openidc:2.3, which is sometimes not that obvious. It is more than recommended to fix the module.md file right away and avoid problems in the future.

Check the tracker https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1780081 for more info.

Comment 1 Jakub Hrozek 2019-12-05 12:29:35 UTC
Thank you for the bug report. At the moment we don't plan on updating mod_auth_openidc. Would it be enough leave the fix for a future update? I'm specifically asking because AFAIK we can't push the change without acks, but at the same time, the acks depend on a bug being targeted for a release..

Comment 2 Jakub Hrozek 2020-06-02 15:37:59 UTC
Rationale for requesting this fix in a z-stream: mod_auth_openidc is a low-traffic component and therefore it's better to take the opportunity to fix the bug now when we're already fixing some CVEs rather than risk rolling the bug forward...

Comment 6 Scott Poore 2020-07-17 16:43:07 UTC
Verified.

FYI the version above will change because we're untagging that build from 8.3.0 so that 8.3.0 inherits the version from 8.2.0z properly.

When done version should match the 8.2.0z build from bz#1844107

Ok, this looks like the correct build is in the latest nightly repo:
