RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

wrong position

Description of problem:
The Console is not at the right position on the page after Import VM

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
cockpit-machines-208-1.el8.noarch
libvirt-dbus-1.2.0-3.module+el8.1.0+4066+0f1aadab.x86_64

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click Import VM
2. Enter name, installation source, os , click create

Actual results:
The console is not at the middle of the page, see attachment 1 [details] for details.
Then after a while, it may change to the left part, see attachment 2 [details] for details.
Sometimes it may stay as attachment 1 [details] show and doesn't change position anymore.

Expected results:
The console should be at the middle part on the page.

Additional info:
The same situation may occur when Create VM, not 100% occurs.

Comment 2 Katerina Koukiou 2020-01-03 14:46:39 UTC
This is an issue with our custom CSS for VNC console. See https://github.com/cockpit-project/cockpit/blob/master/pkg/machines/components/consoles.css

This CSS should be moved to the react-console module and fixed appropriately there.

Comment 4 Katerina Koukiou 2020-11-19 10:46:35 UTC
This has been fixed upstream in release 231, when we changed the design of the main VM page. Now the console lives on separate page, with the rest of the VM details.

Comment 5 Xianghua Chen 2020-12-02 09:52:45 UTC
Pre verified with:
cockpit-machines-233.1-1.el8.noarch

The VM page is newly designed in a seperate page, so change the Steps to:
1. Click Import VM
2. Enter name, installation source, os , click create
3. Click the name of the vm to enter the vm sub-page, the console is in the Console window
4. Click Expand, you will get a console sub-page ,click vm name in navigation bars to get back to the vm sub-page

All pages looks good.
So set as verify:tested.
