Doc Text:	.Directory Server now stores memory-mapped files of databases on a `tmpfs` file system In Directory Server, the `nsslapd-db-home-directory` parameter defines the location of memory-mapped files of databases. This enhancement changes the default value of the parameter from `/var/lib/dirsrv/slapd-__instance_name__/db/` to `/dev/shm/`. #### Issue Description

We get a slight performance boost by setting nsslapd-db-home-directory to /dev/shm (memory mapped file system).  We should investigate if this is worth setting by default.

After evaluating this issue, there are no plans to address it further or fix it in an upcoming release.  Therefore, it is being closed.  If plans change such that this issue will be fixed in an upcoming release, then the bug can be reopened.

This bug is blocked by https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1843238. That is expected to land into 8.5 ITM16.
This is still valid to target this RFE for 8.6. Reopening the BZ.
