An out of bounds (OOB) memory access flaw was found in the Linux kernel's F2FS file system in init_min_max_mtime in s/f2fs/segment.c. This could allow a local attacker to crash the system or leak kernel internal information.

Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options don't meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.

This issue did not affect Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, 6, 7, and 8 as the kernel package never contained the code and is currently not provided in any of our supported products.
