python-certbot-nginx is one of Certbot's most popular plugins. It would be good to get it packaged in EPEL 8. All dependencies of this package are already available in EPEL 8.
As you noticed I just submitted an EPEL8 update for testing. It should be available in "epel-testing" within the next days ("dnf install --enablerepo=epel-testing python-certbot-nginx"). I'd be glad if some users could test this and leave feedback (bodhi preferred but bugzilla helps as well).
python-certbot-nginx-1.2.0-2.el8 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 8 testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. See https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:Updates_Testing for instructions on how to install test updates. You can provide feedback for this update here: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2020-14a9ded8e5
python-certbot-nginx-1.3.0-1.el8 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 8 testing repository. If problems still persist, please make note of it in this bug report. Thanks a lot for working on this Felix. What needs to happen for these packages to be pushed to stable EPEL 8?
These will hit stable early next week (see "days to stable" in bodhi). Initially I planned to push certbot 1.2 (without all the dns plugins) but my update to 1.3 obsoleted that update automatically. That's why this update took a bit longer. In the future I hope we can add a new release to EPEL stable with only 2-3 weeks delay.

The update was pushed to stable in early April, closing.
