Description Fedora Release Engineering 2020-02-06 15:52:35 UTC
OpenCoarrays failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f32

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=41315538

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_32_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix OpenCoarrays at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
OpenCoarrays will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 33,
OpenCoarrays will be retired, if it still fails to build.

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle.
Changing version to 32.

Comment 5 Fedora Release Engineering 2020-02-16 04:34:12 UTC
Dear Maintainer,

your package has not been built successfully in 32. Action is required from you.

If you can fix your package to build, perform a build in koji, and either create
an update in bodhi, or close this bug without creating an update, if updating is
not appropriate [1]. If you are working on a fix, set the status to ASSIGNED to
acknowledge this. Following the latest policy for such packages [2], your package
will be orphaned if this bug remains in NEW state more than 8 weeks.

A week before the mass branching of Fedora 33 according to the schedule [3],
any packages not successfully rebuilt at least on Fedora 31 will be
retired regardless of the status of this bug.

preliminary patch to get it building

If it's of interest, I got the current version at least building in rawhide for openmpi (only). Preliminary patch attached.

Comment 8 Susi Lehtola 2020-07-08 18:53:37 UTC
@Dave cool, feel free to push your changes to the package tree. Did you send the patches upstream yet? I see they've fixed some things in https://github.com/sourceryinstitute/OpenCoarrays/pull/706 and https://github.com/sourceryinstitute/OpenCoarrays/pull/707 but the upstream ticket is still open. Maybe these would do the thing?

Comment 9 Dave Love 2020-07-09 11:20:06 UTC
I won't have access to the repo. I haven't had time to understand what's going on to the extent of knowing what might be appropriate to send on, and I'm afraid I probably can't devote much time to it now, especially as I'd want it in EPEL to make use of it. I hope it's useful at least to have a token build to avoid it being dropped until someone can devote time to it. I doubtless have missed relevant fixes. (I was surprised it seemed to be in a poor state.)

Comment 10 Susi Lehtola 2020-08-14 08:10:17 UTC
OpenCoarrays has been automatically retired from Fedora since it hasn't built in a long time.
