gmpc failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f32 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=41317477 For details on the mass rebuild see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_32_Mass_Rebuild Please fix gmpc at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks, gmpc will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 33, gmpc will be retired, if it still fails to build. This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle. Changing version to 32.
Dear Maintainer, your package has not been built successfully in 32. Action is required from you. If you can fix your package to build, perform a build in koji, and either create an update in bodhi, or close this bug without creating an update, if updating is not appropriate [1]. If you are working on a fix, set the status to ASSIGNED to acknowledge this. Following the latest policy for such packages [2], your package will be orphaned if this bug remains in NEW state more than 8 weeks. A week before the mass branching of Fedora 33 according to the schedule [3], any packages not successfully rebuilt at least on Fedora 31 will be retired regardless of the status of this bug. This probably has to be retired as it requires gob2 to build and gob2 has also been retired.
Building gmpc depends on gob2 which has been retired.

Adrian, if I were to reinstate gob2, would you want to continue maintaining gmpc?
No, I do not want to continue maintaining it. I have not been using it for the last three years and also all mpd servers I had are disabled/gone.
Hmm, I hadn't caught that the gmpc build was dependent on (retired) gob2, when I rescued it from being orphaned. Looks like it may have to be retired after all. I'm not sure I'm up for resurrecting and maintaining gob2 as well, just to keep gmpc building. The upstream project is pretty much dead in the water, anyway, has been for most of the past decade.
This message is a reminder that Fedora 32 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 32 on 2021-05-25. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '32'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version' to a later Fedora version. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora 32 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above. Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes bugs or makes them obsolete.
Fedora 32 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2021-05-25. Fedora 32 is no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug. If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this bug. Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
