Description Fedora Release Engineering 2020-02-06 20:24:08 UTC
wpebackend-fdo failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f32

https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=41322882

For details on the mass rebuild see:

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_32_Mass_Rebuild
Please fix wpebackend-fdo at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to
ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks,
wpebackend-fdo will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 33,
wpebackend-fdo will be retired, if it still fails to build.

Comment 4 Michael Catanzaro 2020-02-06 22:26:42 UTC
Error is:

make[2]: Leaving directory '/builddir/build/BUILD/wpebackend-fdo-1.4.0/s390x-redhat-linux-gnu'
/builddir/build/BUILD/wpebackend-fdo-1.4.0/src/ws.cpp:76:8: error: 'PFNEGLQUERYWAYLANDBUFFERWL' does not name a type
   76 | static PFNEGLQUERYWAYLANDBUFFERWL s_eglQueryWaylandBufferWL;
      | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We'll need help from mesa developers I guess. Is EGL support incomplete for s390x?

Actually this is happening on every architecture, the script just happened to attach the s390x build log to this bug.

OK, it just needs this patch: https://github.com/Igalia/WPEBackend-fdo/commit/bee4104c897412fbe58da0b9615d3a1a1bde826a.patch

Chris, mind giving me access to this package (and also libwpe)? Thanks.

Hey Chris, let us help with this. :) Please go here:

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/wpebackend-fdo/settings#usersgroups-tab

And Add Group: "gnome-sig" to give commit rights; that way, you're not the only one who can fix issues with the package. That should allow me and several others to help out with this issue. (Would be good to do the same for libwpe as well.) Thanks!

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 32 development cycle.
Changing version to 32.

Comment 9 Fedora Release Engineering 2020-02-16 04:31:21 UTC
Dear Maintainer,

your package has not been built successfully in 32. Action is required from you.

If you can fix your package to build, perform a build in koji, and either create
an update in bodhi, or close this bug without creating an update, if updating is
not appropriate [1]. If you are working on a fix, set the status to ASSIGNED to
acknowledge this. Following the latest policy for such packages [2], your package
will be orphaned if this bug remains in NEW state more than 8 weeks.

A week before the mass branching of Fedora 33 according to the schedule [3],
any packages not successfully rebuilt at least on Fedora 31 will be
retired regardless of the status of this bug.
