Description of problem: Why trying to update gnome-desktop to the current version one bumps into the following: Error: Problem 1: cannot install the best update candidate for package gnome-desktop-2.32.0-23.fc30.x86_64 - nothing provides /usr/bin/python23 needed by gnome-desktop-2.32.0-25.fc32.x86_64 Problem 2: package gnome-desktop-devel-2.32.0-25.fc32.x86_64 requires gnome-desktop = 2.32.0-25.fc32, but none of the providers can be installed - cannot install the best update candidate for package gnome-desktop-devel-2.32.0-23.fc30.x86_64 - nothing provides /usr/bin/python23 needed by gnome-desktop-2.32.0-25.fc32.i686 - nothing provides /usr/bin/python23 needed by gnome-desktop-2.32.0-25.fc32.x86_64 (try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages) Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): gnome-desktop-2.32.0-25.fc32 Additional info: So far in rawhide python27-2.7.17-1.fc32 provides /usr/bin/python2 and /usr/bin/python2.7 but something like /usr/bin/python23 is not there.
