Description of problem: Every day, logrotate emails: /etc/cron.daily/logrotate: error: stat of /var/log/freshclam.log failed: No such file or directory Note that clamav-update is installed, but has never run. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): clamav-update-0.102.2-2.fc30.x86_64 (also on Fedora 31) How reproducible: Always. Steps to Reproduce: 1. dnf install clamav-update 2. Wait for the daily cron job to run (can take up to 24h). Actual results: logrotate emails an error related to the clamav-update logrotate.conf fragment in /etc/logrotate.d/clamav-update. Expected results: No error should occur, and no email should be sent. Additional info: Adding a "missingok" directive to /etc/logrotate.d/clamav-update fixes the issue.
The last 2 commits [1] are doing this issue, I'd love remove all old freshclam stuff ... In my point of view , all people it will prefer run `journalctl -u clamav-freshclam` to watch the logs than keep old /var/log/freshclam.log , therefore we should remove or at least move clamav-update.logrotate to /usr/share/doc/clamav-update/ @Orion what do you think ? I would just add the "missingok" line to the logrotate file, there is no harm in it just being there. While the LogFile entry in freshclam.conf is commented out by default, some user may want to use it. Also this will help with migration as many people will probably keep their old configurations. Finally, some users my like using logwatch to monitor freshclam.log.
For me is OK .
