Description Ask Bjørn Hansen 2006-02-10 08:49:28 UTC
Description of problem:

The kernel-devel package doesn't seem to match the kernel. See below.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

kernel-smp-2.6.15-1.1917_FC5
kernel-smp-devel-2.6.15-1.1917_FC5

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install VMware-server-e.x.p-20925
2. symlink /usr/src/kernels/2.6.15-1.1917_FC5-smp-i686 to /usr/src/linux
3. run vmware-config.pl
4. Notice how it doesn't like the kernel sources, saying "The kernel defined by this directory of header
files does not have the same address space size as your running kernel."

Actual results:

As above.

Expected results:

Expected vmware-config to like what it saw.

Additional info:

This might very well be a vmware bug. If so then at least I've made life easier for the next Fedora user
to encounter this when you tell me so. :-)
