Description German Parente 2020-02-28 14:40:27 UTC
Description of problem:

The scenario is the following one:

- 7 worker nodes are powered off in the cluster. Pods are deleted as expected after the eviction timeout.

- 8 worker nodes are powered off. Pods remains in running state.

the controller logs with DEBUG LEVEL 8 show a difference between one case and the othere.

In the first case, where everything is working as expected, we see at the eviction timeout:

node_lifecycle_controller.go:651] Node is unresponsive. Adding Pods on Node worker1 to eviction queues: <timestamp> is later than <timestamp2>

and also

round_trippers.go:405] GET https://master1.example.local:8443/api/v1/pods?fieldSelector=spec.nodeName%3Dworker1 200 OK in 14 milliseconds
controller_utils.go:212] Recording Deleting all Pods from Node worker1. event message for node worker1

But these latest two messages are not seen in the case where it's not working (8 worker nodes powered off).

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 3.11.135

How reproducible: always on customer cluster.

I will attach privately the controller logs.
