I'm almost certain that what the customer requires / asks for here has been implemented
in the following PRs

https://github.com/ManageIQ/manageiq/pull/19566
https://github.com/ManageIQ/manageiq-ui-classic/pull/6469

and released with 5.11.2 with the following bz

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1788566

Felix, can you please verify that the above PRs & bz addresses
the issue here?

Those PRs are rather promising, we weren't aware of them when the other was raised. 

They do address the current issue.
