HAProxy 2.0 is the current LTS release and has been available upstream since June, 2019. It brings a number of enhancements such as threading, HTTP/2, additional protocol support, small object caching, and performance enhancements. https://www.haproxy.com/blog/haproxy-2-0-and-beyond/
- The Octavia team worked with the CentOS NFV SIG to package HAProxy 2.2 LTS. * The package is now available in their network-extras Yum repository. - Upstream Octavia amphora image create tool now installs HAProxy 2.2 in CentOS-based amphora images. - RDO builds a nightly CentOS-based amphora image - Upstream TripleO CI (scenario010 CI job) pulls nightly amphora image and tests an Octavia-enabled OpenStack deployment. - HAProxy 2.2 LTS or 2.4 LTS will be available in RHEL 9. There are no foreseeable code changes required for Octavia to install HAProxy 2.x in OSP 17 (RHEL 9 based). For this reason, this is a test-only RFE.
