RHCS 3 included support for an RBD image trash where images could be moved instead of being immediately deleted. The previous suggestion for periodically pruning the RBD image trash was to run a 'cron'-like job to issue "rbd trash purge <pool-name>". Starting with RHCS 5, storage administrators can schedule periodic trash purge operations via the CLI.
