Wich version you have installed ? Please run "killall -9 variety", then delete the folder ~/.config/variety and try again to run it. If it still does not run, open a terminal and run manually "/usr/bin/variety -v" and check the log if it reports some errors.

See the attached 'typescript'. After starting variety and agreeing to the license, I just click 'done' on the settings dialog, so I don't make any settings changes. I quickly get a notification that variety has crashed.

When launched from the command line, it seems to be changing my wallpaper, but the gnome indicator is not there.

See the comments in the upstream defect. I think that my problem might be resolved by a fix in the upstream master branch. Once you've updated the RPM, I'll pull it to validate everything is working.

No luck. The indicator doesn't even load this time. Previously it showed up briefly and then a gnome notification popped up and said that it crashed.
