I have a Dell XPS 15 9510, with a fresh Fedora 34 install, and I have a similar issue where suspend drains the battery in a few hours (or the laptop just doesn't suspend properly at all). # cat /sys/power/mem_sleep [s2idle] But: # echo deep > /sys/power/mem_sleep -bash: echo: write error: Invalid argument I tried to add a parameter to /etc/default/grub: mem_sleep_default=deep But that has no effect either. I'm currently running kernel 5.13.15, but the issue has been in all kernel versions since I installed (about 1 month ago).
An update on my Dell XPS 15 9510 Fedora 34, kernel 5.14.7, using Wayland (previously I had XOrg), removed nvidia drivers so now have nouveau. From Gnome Power Settings I had to set Blank Screen -> never Now the laptop goes to sleep, and after leaving overnight the next morning I have about 50% battery left. The only thing is, when I start the laptop after suspend, it takes about 30 seconds to come alive again. Seems as though it is coming out of hibernation rather than suspend?
