Smarty is available for EPEL-7 but not for EPEL-8. Would it be possible to add it?
I build the package and published it here for the moment: https://ltb-project.org/rpm/8/noarch/php-Smarty-3.1.33-1.el8.noarch.rpm I will remove it from this repository once it will be available in EPEL.
AFAIK PHP packages in EPEL 8 are blocked by: - https://pagure.io/epel/issue/75 - https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/issue/8690
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
@siwinski, is that still a valid concern ? I've just tried to rebuild php-Smarty in EPEL 8 with mock and it succeeded. I had to go back to 8a69d9c to get an ancient version which doesn't requires php-fedora-autoloader-devel to build, as php-fedora-autoloader is also missing from EPEL 8 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1869011), but apart from that, I think it should be possible.
Hi Shawn, As stated in the EPEL 9, I'd be glad to take care of the EPEL branches for php-Smarty. My FAS username is xavierb. Regards, Xavier
Hello @xavier -- I have provided you permissions to the php-Smarty package for EPEL packaging
