Description of problem: Recently, FF is crashing for me a lot, especially during video conferences via BlueJeans. Here are the recent crash reports from my system. This is the first batch crashing in `moz_container_get_wl_surface` https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/00256d82-9749-404d-9f59-bb0f30200331 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/8ef1769a-63f5-44d3-a921-9d88d0200331 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/beb1e32b-1439-442f-8dfb-e369a0200331 https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/cb302cc9-2263-4f75-816e-3606e0200331 and this is the other crasing in `wl_proxy_marshal_array_constructor_versioned` which I would be surprised if it is very different. https://crash-stats.mozilla.org/report/index/ae8fbae1-0922-4e47-8c01-971fa0200331 Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): $ rpm -q firefox firefox-74.0-11.fc33.x86_64 How reproducible: Sometimes, especially during video conf right after I ask some question ;) Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: FF is crashing. Expected results: FF works. Additional info: Also, it is quite annoying that the crash reported stays open and the "restart firefox" does not work well, because the newly started FF instance cannot access the web cam and mic, because the crash reported keeps them locked.
Thanks for your report. This looks like https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1624745 which is fixed in upcoming Firefox 75.
Thx for the pointer. It would be nice to have this patch included in Fedora, because it is very annoying bug. In the mean time, here is scratch build with the patch applied: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=42941453 I have updated my FF and will see during my afternoon meetings.
Yes. There are already 75 candidates available so I'll do the new builds asap.
Thx. BTW two meetings later and without crash, so far so good :) Appreciate your effort.
Added to firefox-74.0.1.
