The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description of problem:

I tested Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 beta. After the installation process finished "sucessfully", the laptop can not reboot as it enter an infinite loop.
 
My laptop : DMI: Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 850 G2/2216.

It is the same bug as in 1515897

Actual results:
Infinite loop with message:
"System BootOrder not found. Initializing defaults. Creating boot entry "Boot005B" with label "Red Hat Enterprise Linux" for file "\EFI\redhat\shim64.efi"

"Reset System"



Expected results:
I expect to see the grub menu with boot entry and the system to start normally.

Additional info:

There is a workaround that works on OpenSuse Tumbleweed. With this Operating System the installation works and also there is a notice that something is not as expected the system is successfully installed and can boot properly.

This is not the case with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 Beta on that particular PC Laptop.

After evaluating this issue, there are no plans to address it further or fix it in an upcoming release.  Therefore, it is being closed.  If plans change such that this issue will be fixed in an upcoming release, then the bug can be reopened.
