RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description ybendito 2020-05-03 17:16:13 UTC
Feature request:
Currently the netkvm driver released for Win10/2016/2019 supports NDIS revision 6.3 and not able to support features included in higher NDIS revisions. For example NDIS 6.80 (Server 2019) supports RSS for UDP packets, probably further NDIS revisions will define other useful features. It makes sense to make netkvm to be more adaptive for exact revision of NDIS on the running system and using the same binary support advanced features (like mentioned one) when possible.

Comment 7 Yu Wang 2020-05-14 02:37:38 UTC
Tested with build183 on Win10-32/64 and Win8.1-32/64 for WHQL jobs.

”DF - PNP Rebalance Fail Restart Device Test (Reliability)“ job
failed on win10-32
Failed as BSOD: stop code: BUGGODE NDIS DRIVER
But cannot get dump file. The screenshot refer to attachment.

The same error with build 184

Thanks
Yu Wang

Please run this batch file as an administrator before test execution (assuming the test does not reboot the machine) and share the MEMORY.DMP file.

Comment 17 Yu Wang 2020-05-20 03:48:55 UTC
Test with build 178/181 on 8.2.1 av , both hit this issue.

AV version:
qemu-kvm-4.2.0-21.module+el8.2.1+6586+8b7713b9.x86_64
kernel-4.18.0-197.el8.x86_64
seabios-1.13.0-1.module+el8.2.0+5520+4e5817f3.x86_64

It PASS with slow train:

kernel-4.18.0-193.3.1.el8_2.x86_64
qemu-kvm-2.12.0-99.module+el8.2.0+5827+8c39933c.x86_64
seabios-bin-1.13.0-1.module+el8.2.0+5520+4e5817f3.noarch

So, it maybe a qemu-kvm issue.

Thanks
Yu Wang

Comment 18 ybendito 2020-05-20 05:29:27 UTC
So, please open separate BZ for this problem, assign it to me and mention in it the latest dump file (for the history).
The problem is driver's problem (even if it happens depending on qemu build)

Comment 19 Yvugenfi@redhat.com 2020-05-25 08:29:59 UTC
Build 185 fixed the issue in comment #7.

Comment 20 Yu Wang 2020-05-26 06:06:40 UTC
Tested with build183 on Win10-32/64 and Win8.1-32/64 for WHQL jobs.
Tested with build184 on Win10-32/64 and Win8.1-32/64 for function tests (full run)

And for issue in comment#7, build 185 is passed, bug is verified now.
So, all the tests are passed.

Above all, this issue has been fixed, change this bug to verified.

Thanks all
Yu Wang
