Description Igor Raits 2020-05-05 06:21:06 UTC
Hello,

Your package (pcp) Fails To Install in Fedora 33:

---
can't install pcp-pmda-statsd-5.1.0-1.fc33.x86_64:
  - nothing provides libhdr_histogram.so.4()(64bit) needed by pcp-pmda-statsd-5.1.0-1.fc33.x86_64
---

According to a policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks if you won't reply to this bug.

Thanks!

Comment 1 Mark Goodwin 2020-05-05 06:41:50 UTC
Looks like HdrHistogram_c-0.9.13-1 provides libhdr_histogram.so.5()(64bit) but not libhdr_histogram.so.4()(64bit) :

rpm -qp --provides https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Everything/x86_64/os/Packages/h/HdrHistogram_c-0.9.13-1.fc33.x86_64.rpm
warning: https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/rawhide/Everything/x86_64/os/Packages/h/HdrHistogram_c-0.9.13-1.fc33.x86_64.rpm: Header V3 RSA/SHA256 Signature, key ID 9570ff31: NOKEY
HdrHistogram_c = 0.9.13-1.fc33
HdrHistogram_c(x86-64) = 0.9.13-1.fc33
libhdr_histogram.so.5()(64bit)

Yes, we'll need a PCP rebuild at some point (new HdrHistogram_c is only in rawhide).

Comment 4 Nathan Scott 2020-05-12 07:22:00 UTC
Plan is to resolve this in two-three weeks with the (upstream) pcp-5.1.1 release build.
