RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Red Hat Bugzilla 1830821 1 unspecified POST Please build python-pypandoc for EPEL 8 2023-01-17 03:39:11 UTC
Red Hat Issue Tracker RHELPLAN-133457 0 None None None 2022-09-07 14:54:22 UTC

Description Robert Scheck 2020-05-06 00:54:14 UTC
Description of problem:
Please build pandoc-citeproc for EPEL 8. It's a build-time dependency of python-pypandoc.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
pandoc-citeproc-0.16.2-1.fc32

Actual results:
No pandoc-citeproc in EPEL 8.

Expected results:
pandoc-citeproc-0.16.2-1.el8 - or better ;-)

Additional info:
Please let me know if you are not interested in maintaining the package on EPEL 8 branch.

Comment 1 Jens Petersen 2020-09-07 10:01:40 UTC
There have been a lot of delays with getting ghc into EPEL8, but the initial work is finally done.
So hopefully there will be more progress soon.

Comment 2 Nick Black 2022-03-21 10:50:33 UTC
does ghc 8.2.2 suffice? https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2020-c24419cb8d

Comment 3 Orion Poplawski 2022-06-01 19:03:25 UTC
Any progress? Any help needed? Thanks.

Comment 4 Jens Petersen 2022-06-22 05:37:32 UTC
In theory it might be quicker/easier to add pandoc-citeproc to RHEL8 CRB...

Bootstrapping pandoc in EPEL8 will still take some time I think.
Currently I am starting work on EPEL9 packages.
Though it seems EPEL8 might be more urgently needed.

Comment 5 Jens Petersen 2022-06-22 05:38:30 UTC
I can just add that is it not a small amount of work:
pandoc has roughly 100 dependencies that need to be built..

Comment 6 Jens Petersen 2022-06-22 05:39:28 UTC
Also I would be happy to setup a copr repo in the meantime if that is helpful.

Comment 9 Orion Poplawski 2023-01-17 05:01:30 UTC
I think we can drop this since new pypandoc's do not require pandoc-citeproc.

Comment 10 Jens Petersen 2023-01-17 07:18:46 UTC
(In reply to Orion Poplawski from comment #9)
> I think we can drop this since new pypandoc's do not require pandoc-citeproc.

Does that require a newer version of pandoc?
