Hello, Your package (python-jinja2) Fails To Install in Fedora 33: --- can't install python2-jinja2-2.11.2-1.fc33.noarch: - nothing provides python2-babel >= 0.8 needed by python2-jinja2-2.11.2-1.fc33.noarch --- According to a policy for FTBFS/FTI bugs (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fesco/Fails_to_build_from_source_Fails_to_install/), your package may be orphaned in 8+ weeks if you won't reply to this bug. Thanks!
Fixed by removing the python2 subpackage: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-jinja2/c/1535c3bd This might cause FTIs in other packages.
I'm afraid this is the wrong kind of fix. python2-jinja2 is still used by trac
btw: I reinstated python2-babel on 2020-05-08 so python2-jinja2 might be working just fine.
bug 1737930 is the main "Python 2 trac" bug
Hello, Please note that this comment was generated automatically. If you feel that this output has mistakes, please contact me via email (ignatenkobrain). All subpackages of a package agaisnt which this bug was filled are now installable or removed from Fedora 33. Thanks for taking care of it!
The problem is that python2-jinja2 was dropped even though other packages (trac) depend on it. Btw: Trac upstream announced that they are planning a release in early July which should provide Python 3 support.
(In reply to Felix Schwarz from comment #6) > The problem is that python2-jinja2 was dropped even though other packages > (trac) depend on it. The problem is not that it was dropped though any other packages depend on it, but packages for which an exception was granted. Sorry for that. I re-added the python2 subpackage.
