Description Jim Perrin 2006-02-28 20:52:42 UTC
Description of problem:

The up2date client has the ability to mark a package as ignored, however no such
option exists for the RHN website. Those of us with custom rpms for certain
applications that also exist in rhn (firefox for example) do not have the option
to mark a package as excluded or ignored via the website. This would be very
helpful to distinguish between real errata issues and specific packages the
administrator has chosen for some specific reason when using the RHN website. We
can't always use stock rhel packages, and it would be nice to tell RHN to ignore
certain packages of the administrator's choice.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
current RHN website in production

How reproducible:

Always.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install custom rpm of rhel package.
2.view RHN site to see 'errata' for that package available.
3.

Actual results:
All errata for rhel version of package listed as needed, and machine listed as
out of date

Expected results:
Ability to say "yes... I know you don't like this package. ignore it anyway"
even if it requires multiple "yes I'm sure" type clicking. Possibly seeing
another category of 'Frozen Packages" or something similar when viewing machine
with custom version of rhel package.
