Description Christoph Jerolimov 2020-05-20 12:37:56 UTC
Description of problem (by Gajanan More):
When we exceed the limit of characters in the Name field or the Application Name field, it shows the same error which is 'Error "Invalid value: "nationalparks-py1111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111": must be no more than 63 characters" for field "metadata.labels".' We can improve the error message and make it more simplified so that user can understand the actual error and where the error is. The current UI does not show where or which field has the actual error. We can change the default field color to red color so that it will be easier to understand to users.

Version-Release number of selected component:
Gajanan was using 4.3.0-0.nightly-2019-12-09-035405 build while testing.

This still happens on 4.5-nightly.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Switch into the Developer console
2. Select Add+ > Container Image
3. Under General > Application Name select "Create Application"
4. Enter a long application name into the text field "Name". (More than 63 characters)

Actual results:
Input was accepted and an error message was shown when pressing "Create"

Expected results:
Form should be validated before the user can press "Create".
