Error message

Description of problem:
URLs don't open any more. I use this regularly and I'm sure this worked in Fedora 31 and before, can't say if it ever worked in 32 or not.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
keepass-2.44-2.fc32
mono-core-6.6.0-5.fc32

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create or select an entry with a valid URL
2. Click the URL in the preview (bottom pane)
OR 2a. press Ctrl+U
OR 2b. Context menu -> URL(s) -> open

Actual results:
Error message shows the URL and "Cannot find the specified file"

Expected results:
URL opens in default browser

Additional info:
This has been reported upstream [1] and there are workarounds but I'd like a proper fix and this issue should at least track this for Fedora.

It could be a bug in mono but I'll leave that to the maintainer to decide.

Comment 1 Peter Oliver 2020-05-24 13:56:30 UTC
This appears to be a change of behaviour in Mono. Reported at https://github.com/mono/mono/issues/19836.

Comment 5 Peter Oliver 2021-01-10 01:19:17 UTC
KeePass 2.47 features a workaround for this issue, but I guess we should keep it open since it affects other Mono applications.

Comment 6 Timotheus Pokorra 2021-01-10 06:29:12 UTC
It seems our bug at upstream is a duplicate, and this bug has been reported earlier:
https://github.com/mono/mono/issues/17204

See also https://github.com/dotnet/runtime/issues/17938, which mentions all sorts of workarounds.

Comment 7 Timotheus Pokorra 2021-02-10 14:50:40 UTC
there is now a patch available: https://github.com/mono/mono/pull/20821

I will add that to Mono in the various Fedora branches.
