RHEL Engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on RHEL 6 through RHEL 9 to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs in the statuses "NEW", "ASSIGNED", and "POST" are being migrated throughout September 2023. Bugs of Red Hat partners with an assigned Engineering Partner Manager (EPM) are migrated in late September as per pre-agreed dates. Bugs against components "kernel", "kernel-rt", and "kpatch" are only migrated if still in "NEW" or "ASSIGNED". If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "RHEL project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description David Kaylor 2020-06-04 19:03:27 UTC
- Proposed title of this feature request

remapIdentity configuration option

- What is the nature and description of the request?

Mirroring image signatures can require a significant amount of configuration. The feature proposed here would simplify things:

https://github.com/containers/image/issues/884

- How would the customer like to achieve this? (List the functional requirements here)

Add the remapIdentity feature as described in the above link.

- For each functional requirement listed, specify how Red Hat and the customer can test to confirm the requirement is successfully implemented.

Mirror image signatures from a Red Hat repository. Configure the policy using remapIdentity. Validate the signatures in the mirrored registry.

- Is there already an existing RFE upstream or in Red Hat Bugzilla?

Upstream: https://github.com/containers/image/issues/884

- List any affected packages or components.

podman, skopeo, cri-o, buildah

Miloslav any update on this?

Comment 9 Mark Roberts 2021-01-27 17:59:03 UTC
Hi - Any news on when this might be implemented on OpenShift ?

Comment 12 Tom Sweeney 2021-01-27 18:53:40 UTC
This was fixed in this PR: https://github.com/containers/image/pull/1075 (Add a signedIdentity choice "type": "remapIdentity") which was merged on December 4, 2020. This was then included with the containers/image v5.9.0 release on Dec 7, 2020 which will be part of RHEL 8.3.1 and and RHEL 8.4. As far as Podman is concerned, this fix is in Podman v2.2.1 and Podman v3.0.0

Unfortunately I don't know how/when this change will make it's way into OCP. Peter Hunt or Derrick Ornelas any insight on that piece of it?

As this BZ is against Podman, I'm going to set this to POST and assign it to Jindrich for any further packaging needs.
