Description Sergio 2020-06-05 09:07:26 UTC
Description of problem:
When we execute a migration from nfs storage to gp2 storage, and the nfs server cannot be seen from the target cluster, we get a warning saying that the target cluster cannot see the nfs server.

But when we copy from nfs to gp2, the target cluster does not need to see the nfs server, it is only an issue when we move nfs, not when we copy it.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
CAM 1.2.0
SOURCE CLUSTER: AWS 3.11
TARGET CLUSTER: AWS 4.3

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create any application using an nfs PVC in the source cluster. Use a nfs server that cannot be seen from target cluster
2. Migrate the application to the target cluster, select the PVC to migrated using "copy" action and "gp2" as the destination storageclass

Actual results:
The migration plan will show a warning
  - category: Warn
    lastTransitionTime: "2020-06-04T17:14:13Z"
message: NFS servers [XXX.XX.XX.XXX] not accessible on the destination cluster.
    status: "True"
    type: NfsNotAccessible

Expected results:
There should be no warning, since it is only an issue if we move the nfs. We don't need to see the nfs server from target cluster when the action is "copy".

Comment 1 Padmanabha V Seshadri 2020-11-24 17:24:13 UTC
Hi,

I tried but failed to reproduce this bug. Here are the steps I followed:
1. Create a project on ocp-3.11 cluster which uses an nfs PV.
2. Tested the nfs service (hosted on ocp-3.11 node) is not accessible from the ocp-4.5 node by running `showmount -e <IP_ADDR_OF_NFS_HOST>`.
3. Ran the migrate on ocp-4.5.

Comment 2 Sergio 2020-11-25 09:15:26 UTC
Hello,

You followed the right steps to reproduce the issue.

I have tried to reproduce the bug too using MTC 1.3.2 and it seems that problem is not there any more.

Thank you.

Comment 5 Sergio 2021-01-11 11:53:08 UTC
Verified in MTC 1.4.0

The warning is not displayed any more.

Moved to VERIFIED status.
