oVirt gerrit 110320 0 master MERGED Fix iSCSI LUNs error display 2021-02-12 15:24:29 UTC

Description Roman Hodain 2020-06-25 08:39:25 UTC
Description of problem:
When using cockpit for hosted engine deployment and the storage domain is based on the iSCSI. The cockpit UI does not clearly show when there is an issue with the iSCSI LUN.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:
100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a LUN for hosted engine storage domain. Size is 10GB!
2. Deploy hosted engine and get to step 4 (storage domain deployment)
3. Specify an iSCSI target
4. Retrieve the target list
5. Choose the target
6. LUN cannot be chosen as it doe not have enough capacity.

Actual results:
Only a warning icon is displayed, but no information is provided. Only when one moves the mouse over the icon and stays there for a while a tooltip is displayed. This is very confusing. Error messages should not be reported as tooltips.

Expected results:
Show the error message in a clear way and immediately visible.

why High severity?

Comment 4 Sandro Bonazzola 2020-11-06 11:19:49 UTC
can be tested with 4.4.3 build

Comment 11 Wei Wang 2020-12-14 11:11:21 UTC
Test with latest build RHVH-4.4-20201210.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso, the iscsi lun cannot be retrieved. The bug is not fixed, move it to "ASSIGNED"

Comment 13 Aviv Turgeman 2020-12-15 08:21:45 UTC
Hi Wei
can I have the log files of the failure so I can see where it fails?
please verify cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.14.16-1.el8 is installed since the issue of luns cannot be retrieved has been resolved, you can see this in bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1903567

Yes, but the latest RHVH build only include the cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.14.15-1.el8ev.noarch. This bug was include in the 4.4.3-2 release errata of rhvh, so QE need to assigned back(re-target to 4.4.5).
QE suggest to test this after the package into RHVH.

Comment 15 Wei Wang 2020-12-22 10:10:51 UTC
Test with RHVH-4.4-20201217.0-RHVH-x86_64-dvd1.iso(cockpit-ovirt-dashboard-0.14.17-1.el8ev.noarch), error message "This LUN cannot be selected because it does not have sufficient storage capacity to support the hosted engine VM." is displayed with hosted engine deployment screen via cockpit WebUI.

Bug is fixed, QE will verify it after the status is moved to "ON_QA"

Comment 16 Wei Wang 2021-01-15 02:23:59 UTC
According to comment 15 , move it to "VERIFIED"

Comment 21 Sandro Bonazzola 2021-01-15 10:41:41 UTC
Added to errata, moved to VERIFIED as per comment #16
