Description Erin Donnelly 2020-06-30 14:12:39 UTC
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1839001 +++

Please replace i3.2xlarge with i3en.2xlarge at all places in the doc.

Please do review the managing guide as well and replace there as well if present.

Currently I find it at 2 places, one in 1.2.3 section and another in 1.2.4

Section 1.2.3:

In this example, all the OpenShift Container Storage worker nodes are of the Amazon EC2 type i3.2xlarge. So, all the three worker nodes have the same type of machine but the by-id identifier is unique for every local device. The lsblk command shows the last two devices, nvme0n1 and nvme1n1 with a size of 1.7 TB each.

Section 1.2.4:
The Amazon EC2 storage optimized - i3.2xlarge instance type includes two non-volatile memory express (NVMe) disks. The example in this procedure illustrates the use of both the disks that the instance type comes with.

This bug having no release flag set previously, is now set with release flag 'ocs‑4.4.0' to '?', and so is being proposed to be fixed at the OCS 4.4.0 release. If this bug should be proposed for a different release, please manually change the proposed release flag.

Note that the 3 Acks (pm_ack, devel_ack, qa_ack), if any previously set while release flag was missing, have now been reset since the Acks are to be set against a release flag

--- Additional comment from Erin Donnelly on 2020-06-23 17:20:38 UTC ---

All instances of i3.2xlarge have been replaced with i3en.2xlarge in the OCS 4.4 docs: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_openshift_container_storage/4.4/html/deploying_openshift_container_storage/deploying-openshift-container-storage#installing-openshift-container-storage-using-local-storage-devices_rhocs

We can remove this bug from 4.4.z, but leave for 4.3 when updated.

@erin,

for ease of tracking, lets change this big for Version 4.4 and clone it for OCS 4.3

So that, upon verification, this BZ can be closed and 4.3 changes can be tracked in the cloned BZ.

Should this bug track the change needed in OCS 4.3 docs? It's currently targeted to 4.4.z and is basically the same as bug 1839001 from what I can tell
