Description of problem:
Dkms returns no output and does nothing when attempting to build or install kernel modules.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.8.2-1.fc32

How reproducible:
Easily

Steps to Reproduce:
1. run "dkms autoinstall", "dkms build", or "dkms install" on a kernel module.

Actual results:
No output from the command and nothing is built or installed.

Expected results:
dkms should build the specified module(s) but nothing happens.

Additional info:

Reverting to 2.8.1 resolves the issue.

I was able to successfully test COPR rhawalsh/dm-vdo package kmod-kvdo on Fedora32.

It does not appear that the updated package is available in the updates-testing repo on Fedora31 yet, though.  I can test tomorrow if it shows up for me.

I just tested successfully with my COPR rhawalsh/dm-vdo package kmod-kvdo on Fedora31.  Both updates work for me!
