Description Christian Dersch 2020-07-17 17:24:13 UTC
Spec URL: https://lupinix.fedorapeople.org/review/python-extension-helpers/python-extension-helpers.spec
SRPM URL: https://lupinix.fedorapeople.org/review/python-extension-helpers/python-extension-helpers-0.1-1.fc31.src.rpm

Description: The extension-helpers package includes convenience helpers to assist with
building Python packages with compiled C/Cython extensions. It is developed
by the Astropy project but is intended to be general and usable by any
Python package.

This is not a traditional package in the sense that it is not intended to be
installed directly by users or developers. Instead, it is meant to be accessed
when the setup.py command is run and should be defined as a build-time
dependency in pyproject.toml files.

Comment 2 Christian Dersch 2020-07-19 09:34:34 UTC
Thanks for your input! Replaced spec and srpm in place. To build the docs we would need to package sphinx-automodapi, therefore I decided to prepare docs generation in spec, making it conditional and disabling it for now.

+ make html
Running Sphinx v2.1.2

Extension error:
Could not import extension sphinx_automodapi.automodapi (exception: No module named 'sphinx_automodapi')
make: *** [Makefile:19: html] Error 2
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.fGAGn7 (%install)

For the tests: Added, had to disable two tests, upstream issue: https://github.com/astropy/extension-helpers/issues/17

Comment 3 Robert-André Mauchin 🐧 2020-07-19 12:41:11 UTC
Excellent, package approved.

Note that you can pass PYTHONDONTWRITEBYTECODE=1 in check to disable testing leaving bytecode.

Comment 4 Christian Dersch 2020-07-19 13:43:42 UTC
